The compressed SoilGrids1km dataset is ca. 30GB. Each download request is therefore limited to 5 tiles.
If you plan to download more than five tiles, please use our FTP service:

SoilGrids1km is a collection of updatable soil property and class maps of the world at a relatively coarse resolution of 1 km produced using state-of-the-art model-based statistical methods: 3D regression with splines for continuous soil properties and multinomial logistic regression for soil classes. SoilGrids1km is a global soil information system based on automated mapping.
Right mouse click or tap on a map will start a point data request to the REST service resulting in a popup with query result. In the case of soil taxonomy (WRB and OUSDA), three most probable soil taxa with predicted probability (0-100%) are indicated. Querying continuous attributes will result in numeric values. For measurement units and spatial prediction methods, please refer to the project homepage.
Layer navigation is activated by clicking on the layer controller, located top right or by pressing Ctr+Shift+L. Layers are indicated in the side panel. By default, mean estimate of a soil attribute for first depth (0–5 cm) is selected for display. In the case of soil classes, either most probable class or specific soil taxa (group or suborder) can be selected from the dropdown menu (indicating 0–100% probability). For continuous soil properties upper confidence interval, mean (median value) and lower confidence interval values for any of the six standard depths can be selected from a menu wizard.
Tools menu contains simple tools that facility navigation or data visualization:
Soilgrids has two perspective modes: 'Download' and 'View'. Allowing for tile download in view 'Download' or data query in the 'View' mode. Modes can be changed by clicking on the top right section of the navigation bar. The download view activates the download control button and the download tile layer where the user can select (by mouse click) a group of tiles to download (max of 5 tiles). When tiles are active the download button changes from grey to green indicating that data is available to download. When clicking the download button a compressed file will be streamed to the user with the current visible layer for multiple depths and uncertainty intervals. While on 'Download' mode the top naviation bar will indicate the option to return 'View' mode.
